Wellbeing and Support

How students are nurtured, understood, and kept safe

Social and Emotional Learning (SEL)

The staff adopt a loving, family-like attitude with all students. Small groups allow closer monitoring and better knowledge of each student. We work individually with students to develop the best in themselves. Parents have permanent and direct contact with the school, especially through tutoring sessions, where staff listen and address the specific needs of each family. The school fosters strong family involvement to support students' social and emotional development.

English as an Additional Language (EAL)

We promote bilingual English-language learning with specialized teachers. A third language (French) is introduced from Primary Education. Most students finish their schooling with Cambridge Advanced (C1) certification.

Mental Wellbeing

The school provides a caring, family-like environment with attentive support for each child. Pastoral care is available; there is a chapel on campus and two chaplains regularly visit to support students. Spiritual formation is extended to families through the family pastoral program, encouraging participation in the school's spiritual life and its values. Escuela de Padres sessions help families support their children's emotional development.

Safeguarding

Capellanía y pastoral de familias: chapel on campus and accompaniment in the Christian formation of students. There are two chaplains who regularly visit the school. Preparation for sacraments is offered at the school. Family pastoral support extends into the home to involve families in the school's spiritual life.

Edelweiss School is a private Catholic bilingual school in Valencia, serving ages 2 to 18. It offers a Catholic, bilingual Spanish–English education with a bespoke curriculum from nursery through Bachillerato. In Nursery, children spend most of the day in English with native or bilingual teachers and learn to read and write with Jolly Phonics. In Primary, most subjects are taught in English; Spanish, Mathematics and Religion are taught in Spanish. English remains the language of instruction across learning, guiding project work. In Secondary and Bachillerato, Cambridge exam preparation and small-group university guidance are emphasized. The school is an Addvantage member and an examination centre for the British Council; many graduates achieve Cambridge C1+/C2. The Campo Olivar campus in Godella features a 15,000 m2 garden, an integrated chapel, an outdoor pool, six sports courts, a science laboratory, and a kitchen serving daily meals. Extracurriculars include debate, choir, and chess for all.
