The school offers four language sections: German, English, French, and Spanish. All language sections follow the harmonised European Schools programmes, with the LI programme treated separately. SWALS pupils may enroll in the Spanish language section if Language II is EN, FR, or DE. From nursery through year 7, SWALS pupils receive Language I classes, provided the school has or can contract a qualified LI teacher; enrollment requires a meeting with the Deputy Head to determine host language, mother tongue and Language II; the School Management reserves the right to determine the dominant language, and may test if needed.

The European School of Alicante provides education from Early Years through Secondary, culminating in the European Baccalaureate. A distinctive feature is its language section system, where students enroll in the English, Spanish, French, or German sections, taking core subjects in that specific language. For students whose mother tongue differs, the school provides the SWALS (Students Without A Language Section) program to maintain their native language proficiency. In Secondary year 6, students participate in a mandatory "Work Experience" program, spending two weeks in a professional internship environment to develop practical skills and inform future career choices. The campus includes specific facilities for art, music, ICT, alongside biology, chemistry, and physics laboratories. Extracurricular activities are managed by specialized organizations, Mundosport and Auca, providing sports and creative options. Situated in Alicante, the school emphasizes multilingualism, serving children of European institution staff alongside other local and international families.
