Wellbeing and Support

How students are nurtured, understood, and kept safe

Social and Emotional Learning (SEL)

The school offers a comprehensive educational program that addresses emotional, social and intellectual aspects. It fosters the development of positive values, skills and talents. The mission emphasizes education in human values to develop global citizens through intercultural understanding and positive human qualities. The goal is to empower students to become critical and compassionate thinkers with integrity and a love of knowledge. The environment is peaceful and harmonious, supporting creativity and collaboration.

Special Educational Needs (SEN)

Differentiation is a school-wide process that matches learning opportunities to individual needs, including SEN. Planning recognises SEN and EAL, with teachers differentiating to include SEN and more-able and talented pupils in class work and interventions. EAL teachers support language development.

English as an Additional Language (EAL)

There are EAL teachers who support language development in the classroom.

Mental Wellbeing

Proper nutrition increases students' physical and mental performance. Multiple intelligences and Human Values are the pillars of Green Valley's learning culture. The environment is peaceful and respectful, supporting well-being and learning.

Safeguarding

Safeguarding and child protection is a whole-school task; all staff have an essential role in identifying welfare concerns and sharing information appropriately. The school designates a Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) to coordinate safeguarding and maintain records. Welfare concerns are recorded on a welfare concern form and kept centrally by the DSL, with clear reporting and escalation procedures when necessary. Examples of welfare concerns include physical marks or injuries, eating disorders, changes in behaviour, self-harm, and concerns about a parent/carer.
