Istituto Italiano Statale Comprensivo di Barcellona is a state Italian comprehensive school abroad serving students from age 3 to 18 across two Barcelona campuses. Established in 1882 and state-recognized as a school in 1951, it combines Italian instruction with local language study and a framework aligned to both Italian and Spanish authorities. The curriculum follows Infanzia (kindergarten), Primaria, and Secondary I and II Grado, with Italian as the main language of instruction and additional Catalan, Spanish and English taught as part of a multilingual program. Primary class hours run around 40 per week; Secondary I Grado and II Grado follow 30–34 and 34–35 hours respectively. The primary and lower secondary campus houses the Italian Paritaria Kindergarten. The school participates in Escoles + Sostenibles environmental education and integrates local subjects to enable recognition by local authorities.
