Academic and Intellectual

La Miranda is an official IB World School delivering the International Baccalaureate curricula, including the Middle Years Programme (MYP) for ages 11 to 16 and the Diploma Programme (DP) for ages 16 to 18. In Primary School, learners are prepared for study in international programmes, where they obtain accredited diplomas, enabling access to universities worldwide, including Cambridge, Institut Français, and the Confucius Institute Foundation. La Miranda was the first school in Catalonia and Spain to incorporate multilingualism into its methodology as a primary element of its educational approach. Apple has recognised La Miranda as a Distinguished School for adopting a continuous innovative approach to learning, and technology is integrated across the school, including robotics and programming.

Arts and Creative

Performing and creative arts are one of the three pillars of Inspired education. The curriculum emphasises innovation across STEAM, including robotics and programming, supported by technology in the Primary, Secondary, and IB divisions. Apple has recognised La Miranda as a Distinguished School for its ongoing innovative approach to learning, which reinforces creativity and the arts.

Cultural and Language

Seven languages are offered, including English, Mandarin Chinese and Russian. Three vehicular languages are Castilian (Spanish), Catalan, and English. In Nursery and Infant School, English, Spanish and Catalan are the main languages; French and Mandarin Chinese are introduced as second languages; Russian and German are integrated through short sessions. Primary language programme features Catalan, Spanish, and English, while the secondary language programme features French, Mandarin Chinese, German, and Russian; language examinations include Cambridge Young Learners (CYL), KET, PET, DELF, and YCT in Primary, and PET, CAE, DELF, YCT, and HSK in Secondary.

Social and Hobbies

Inter-personal interactions occur in multiple school settings, including the classroom and outdoors during sports and extra-curricular activities. The function of the social pillar is to acknowledge and encourage projects and opportunities that promote cooperation, happiness, and teamwork. During their time at La Miranda, students will learn to hone mediation, collaboration, and conflict resolution skills to cultivate a harmonious school environment and learn strategies that will benefit them in adulthood.

Community and Service

Comm­unity Project: Multi-disciplinary project. Year 6 designed, illustrated, written, edited, published, marketed, and sold a Choose Your Own Adventure book, What's your story?. As an interdisciplinary project, learning areas such as Mathematics, Art & Design, Digital Technology, and languages were integrated. Technology used includes FaceTime, Sketches, Pages and Keynote, GarageBand, Showbie, iMovie, and more. All proceeds from book sales are donated to charity: Ghanas de Vivir.

Lifestyle and Wellbeing

The school campus features bespoke, state-of-the-art sports facilities, including a gymnasium and a basketball court, and all students are encouraged to participate in sporting activities. On-site meals are freshly prepared with age-appropriate menus, including accommodations for dietary intolerances and allergies, with menus designed for each age range.

La Miranda International School in Sant Just Desvern, Barcelona, has 60 years of experience in education. The 11-building campus sits on over 13,500 m² of landscaped grounds. Part of Inspired Education Group, La Miranda is an IB World School offering the Middle Years Programme and the Diploma Programme in Spanish and English. The school also provides the Spanish National Baccalaureate with tracks in Science & Technology, Humanities & Social Sciences, and Arts, plus a Dual Diploma combining the Community Diploma with the American High School Diploma. Multilingualism is central: seven languages are offered, including English, Mandarin, Russian, with some languages integrated through short sessions. Facilities include a temperature-controlled pool, a 900 m² sports centre, a 300 m² gym, science and technology laboratories, a robotics room, an Atelier, a music room, a 360-seat auditorium, a library, and a kitchen/canteen.
