It's best to ask — circumstances can change at any time.
The four pillars are Intellectual, Social, Emotional, and Physical. The social pillar recognises that interactions between students play a vital role in personal and emotional development. Inter-personal interactions occur in multiple school settings, including in the classroom and outdoors during sports and extra-curricular activities, to promote cooperation, happiness, and teamwork. During their time at La Miranda, students will learn to hone their mediation, collaboration, and conflict resolution skills to cultivate a harmonious school environment. The emotional pillar supports emotional well-being through age-appropriate methods; mime, mindfulness practices, and the teaching of core values (Esteem, Enthusiasm, and Example). The physical pillar prioritises health and well-being with a varied sports programme and on-site meals that form a menu with organic ingredients. The Pastoral Team and educators provide guidance to meet socio-emotional needs and ensure students feel safe, supported, and accepted.
The multilingual environment is at the heart of our methodology. Since the founding of the school, seven languages are offered to Nursery and Infant School learners. English, Spanish and Catalan are the main languages taught, with French and Mandarin Chinese introduced as second languages. Russian and German are integrated into the curriculum through short sessions. In Primary School, learners prepare for international programmes and undertake language examinations at various stages, including Cambridge Young Learners (CYL), KET, PET, and DELF. In Secondary/Baccalaureate, examinations include PET, CAE, DELF, YCT, and HSK.
We believe in supporting the emotional well-being of our students. The emotional pillar provides age-appropriate methods to help students recognise and regulate their emotions. Mime, mindfulness practices, and the teaching of core values (Esteem, Enthusiasm, and Example) are used to foster emotional health. Inter-personal interactions contribute to social and emotional development in classroom, sport, and extracurricular settings. The school prioritises health and well-being with a varied physical education programme and on-site meals. The Pastoral Team and link teachers provide daily guidance to support student well-being.
Pastoral Team and educators empower students to make the right decisions while feeling safe, supported, and accepted. Link teachers provide ongoing welfare support to students. A dedicated team of psychologists supports student well-being. La Miranda's safeguarding and welfare approach is integrated within its holistic four-pillar model—Intellectual, Social, Emotional, and Physical. The school maintains a nurturing environment with a clear commitment to student safety and well-being. Daily interactions with staff ensure students' socio-emotional needs are addressed.
