Lady Elizabeth School opened on 14 September 1987 in Jávea with Veronica Barnes as founder and 14 students. In 2000, the school began delivering British education from Nursery to A Level, added an established choir and became an official LAMDA exam centre. In 2007, LAUDE acquired Lady Elizabeth School, introducing a new uniform, an expanded subject offering and a vibrant international community. In 2010, a new campus opened in Cumbre del Sol, with Primary moving to the purpose-built campus and facilities including a swimming pool, gym, playgrounds and sea views. In 2011, the school expanded with global programmes, a boarding house, the Duke of Edinburgh Award, Model United Nations and more performances and charity events. In 2014, LES joined International Schools Partnerships (ISP). In 2018, Secondary students joined Primary at the new campus, reflecting ongoing development and renewal under ISP.
The school has a multicultural community of over 60 nationalities. An inclusive approach includes events like International Day, a multilingual curriculum and a multicultural menu featuring dishes from Spanish paella to Mexican tacos. The school also offers a boarding option and more than 50 extracurricular activities, along with international opportunities such as the ILOS programme, Model United Nations and the Duke of Edinburgh Awards.
Lady Elizabeth School is a British international school on Costa Blanca, with a campus in Cumbre del Sol. It serves learners from age 2 to 18, with boarding from age 13. The curriculum blends a British pathway with the IPC and Spanish study. Early Years (2–6) use a bilingual EYFS setting; Primary (6–11) combines IPC with the British National Curriculum to develop language skills and leadership; Secondary (11–16) prepares students for GCSEs through British and Spanish requirements; Sixth Form (16–18) offers Cambridge A Levels with mentoring and leadership opportunities, plus university guidance worldwide. Multilingualism is central, with English and Spanish core and additional studies in German, Russian and French. Notable features include LAMDA, Duke of Edinburgh Award and Model United Nations.
