Parent Experience

Community, involvement and what it's like to be a parent at this school

History

Liceo Sorolla was founded in 1963 by three families who continue to run the school today. The school offers a unique educational model based on active methodologies and a solid language program with English, Spanish and French. It has over 1,300 students from 25 nationalities, aged 2 to 18. Since 2016, Liceo Sorolla has been part of the International Baccalaureate World Schools Network and offers all three IB programmes: the Primary Years Programme (PYP), the Middle Years Programme (MYP), and the Diploma Programme (DP).

Community

The school maintains an active community through regular news and events, including the 50th anniversary celebration in 2025. The II Memorial César Llorente, a family sports event, took place on April 2, 2025, with participation by families and staff. The school hosts other family-oriented events and cultural activities featured in its news section.

Parent-Teacher Association

The AMPA (Association of Mothers and Fathers of Students) serves as the channel for family participation in the school's activities. It has an elected Board and commissions including Pedagogical, Cultural, Activities and Sports, and Dining, Hygiene and Safety, which meet with the school's leadership. The AMPA is funded by a voluntary annual membership of 25 euros per family, and payment supports the association's viability. Members receive benefits such as the Graduation of 2nd Bach and equipment for Saturday activities. The AMPA organizes and participates in events such as the Christmas Fiesta, year-end awards, family conferences, and various courses and talks for families. Contact: info@ampaliceosorolla.es.
