Wellbeing and Support

How students are nurtured, understood, and kept safe

Social and Emotional Learning (SEL)

Inclusion and equity: Every student, regardless of neurocognitive differences, deserves the opportunity to learn in an environment that respects their particularities. Development of potential: By recognizing and valuing the strengths of each student, they are given the opportunity to exploit their capabilities to the fullest. Improved school climate: An inclusive and respectful environment fosters empathy, collaboration and the well-being of the entire educational community. Life skills: Schools must prepare students for an increasingly diverse and inclusive world of work. The school reinforces self-esteem and autonomy, helping students become aware of their strengths and providing tools to overcome difficulties.

Special Educational Needs (SEN)

The Liceo Sorolla School has its own center for attention to diversity, Centro Yume. The center attends to all types of learning needs, and specialists work directly with students, teachers and tutors. We have specialists in clinical psychology, speech therapy, dyslexia and learning disorders. Our teachers are systematically trained to detect and manage different educational needs, and they work with different strategies within the classroom to make teaching more flexible and to use technologies that facilitate access to information. Our goal is to reinforce self-esteem and autonomy and to create inclusive learning environments.

English as an Additional Language (EAL)

The school has a language program with English, Spanish and French. The program supports multilingual instruction across grade levels.

Mental Wellbeing

The school emphasizes the well-being of the entire educational community through an inclusive and respectful environment. Empathy and collaboration are fostered to support mental and social well-being. The commitment to well-being is reinforced through approaches that build self-esteem and autonomy. Life skills are developed to help students navigate an increasingly diverse world of work. An inclusive climate is essential to creating a just and equitable learning environment.
