Social and Emotional Learning (SEL)

Emotional intelligence is a key strength of Los Sauces Vigo. The school promotes cooperative learning. An education in values is emphasised. An anti-bullying program (KIVA) is implemented to foster a safe environment. Public Speaking and Debate, and Comprehensive Reading support social and emotional development.

English as an Additional Language (EAL)

The educational program is bilingual, Spanish and English, with native English language teachers. From 4th Primary on, pupils can choose French or German as a second foreign language, and Chinese is offered as an extracurricular activity.

Mental Wellbeing

Emotional intelligence is a focus for wellbeing. The school helps students recognise strengths and manage future challenges. Cooperation and values-based education contribute to wellbeing.

Safeguarding

No bullying is a priority, supported by the KIVA anti-bullying program and an education in values. Cooperative learning and peer collaboration contribute to a safe classroom climate. The school facilitates family involvement, including contact with teachers outside school hours.

Los Sauces Vigo is a private bilingual school in Mos, Vigo, beside CUVI. It serves students ages 3 to 18, from Early Childhood through Bachillerato, with a campus capacity of 750. The curriculum combines the American Curriculum with the IB Diploma Programme, and the American High School Diploma is offered across campuses. Instruction is bilingual in Spanish and English, with native English teachers. From Primary Year 4, pupils may choose French or German as a second foreign language; Chinese is offered as an extracurricular activity. The Dublin Programme invites 5th and 6th Primary and 1st and 2nd Secondary pupils to Bray Centre, Dublin, for a month, learning in English with native-speaker teachers. The school emphasizes values education, mutual respect, and a no-bullying ethos.
