History

The LIB Bon Soleil is apolitical and secular, independent, humanist, and European in character. Founded in 1969, it is homologated by the French Ministry of Education and Youth (MEN), by the Spanish Ministry of Education, and by the Departament d'Educació of the Generalitat. It is authorized to offer the International Baccalaureate diploma and forms part of the AEFE network. The school aims to provide a comprehensive education that develops culture and knowledge as well as a rational, critical approach, autonomy, and experimentation. It prepares students to become global citizens and to develop their full potential, whatever their needs or abilities.

Community

The LIB Bon Soleil has a diverse, multinational community with about 1,400 students, 103 teachers, and 30 nationalities. Students range from 2 to 18 years old and four languages are taught. The school participates in charitable and educational activities, including Chocolatada Solidaria to support Hospital Sant Joan de Déu, the Epitech Game Jam, and the International Day of the Rights of the Child.

Lycée International Barcelona Bon Soleil is an AEFE-affiliated international school near Barcelona, offering French Curriculum alongside IB Diploma Programme for students aged 2 to 18. It also provides Bachibac and is authorized to deliver the IB Diploma. Founded in 1969, the school is secular, humanist, and European in character, with a mission to develop global citizens and foster autonomy and critical thinking. The Gavà campus sits on a 40,000 m2 site with four buildings and 10,000 m2 of built space, alongside 30,000 m2 of outdoor grounds. Facilities include five science laboratories, two media libraries, a technology room with 3D printers, a music room, an arts room, and a 225-seat auditorium, plus six multisport courts and an indoor pool complex. A dedicated kitchen prepares about 1,500 meals daily from local products, with vegetarian and allergy-friendly options. The school emphasises plurilingualism—French as vehicular language with study of Spanish, Catalan, English—and IB core components.
