The International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme is offered in Boadilla del Monte for students aged 16–19. The IB emphasizes critical thinking and international-mindedness and is typically taught over two years. The program includes six subjects (three at Higher Level and three at Standard Level) plus the Theory of Knowledge, the Extended Essay, and Creativity, Activity and Service. In 2025, DP results show an average score of 34.5, a top score of 44, and 98% earned the bilingual diploma; the school employs 26 IB-certified teachers.
Arts and cultural activities include music, modern dance, ballet and flamenco, rhythmic gymnastics, cheerleading, and hip‑hop. The Music program offers instrumental study across a wide range of instruments (accordion, clarinet, double bass, flute, guitar, piano, saxophone, viola, violin, and cello) and includes electric guitar, bass, keyboards, and drums beyond the elementary level; concerts and cultural exchanges are organized, supported by projects such as MICCO and MIRBE. Dance offerings include Modern Dance, Ballet/Flamenco, and related performance opportunities, while rhythmic gymnastics and cheerleading/hip‑hop activities promote coordination, creativity, and self‑expression.
Language immersion and exchange programs provide opportunities to learn languages and experience different cultures through coordinated trips and stays. UK immersion sites include Brooke House International College in Market Harborough; Canada offers a program in Ottawa; the United States provides a cultural stay at Holton-Arms School in Bethesda, Washington, DC, with hosting arrangements. Cultural trips also include visits to The Hague, its courts and UN-related institutions, and Amsterdam to explore international law and culture. Mandarin Chinese is offered as an extracurricular language, with students taking official Confucius Institute exams to validate progress.
The extracurricular program runs from 17:00 to 18:30, Monday to Friday, with Saturday sports competitions. Activities span artistic and cultural pursuits (music, dance, theatre‑style performance) and athletic programs (karate, rhythmic gymnastics, and other sports), fostering social engagement, teamwork, and personal growth.
Creativity, Activity and Service (CAS) is a component of the IB Diploma Programme, with students engaging in projects outside the classroom that combine creative, physical and service activities to foster holistic learning and personal development. Students choose activities that align with their interests to contribute to the community and develop leadership and teamwork. The program can be enriched with optional national IB subjects such as Technical Drawing, German, or French.
The Bachillerato Internacional program is led by a dedicated team of 26 IB‑certified teachers who collaborate with the school's psycho‑pedagogical unit to support individualized student needs. The program emphasizes independent thinking, intercultural understanding, and leadership and teamwork through core components such as Theory of Knowledge, the Extended Essay, and CAS. CAS and related components encourage student leadership, collaboration, and service, with optional subject enrichment available to broaden the curriculum.
After‑school activities run from 17:00 to 18:30, Monday to Friday, with sports competitions on Saturdays. The program includes extensive artistic, musical, and athletic opportunities designed to support physical fitness, emotional well‑being, confidence, and social interaction through performance, teamwork, and disciplined practice.
Mirabal International School is a private, multilingual international day school with two Madrid campuses, serving students from early childhood through Bachillerato (ages 0–18).
