External competitions and awards are part of the curriculum. Students participate in Physics Olympiads at national and international levels and in the Young Scientific Parliament. The school also runs activities to encourage talent, including external competitions and awards across subjects, and some students have been selected for scholarships such as La Pedrera Foundation's Youth & Science and the Pompeu Fabra University English and French translation competition (UPF).

The Linguistic Project promotes Catalan, Spanish, English and German from Infant education, with French added at secondary. Languages are taught as part of daily learning, with more hours of foreign language teaching and native teachers, and in some subjects English is used as the working language with qualifications prepared (Cambridge and DELF). The school has an International Projects team that promotes initiatives such as the European Youth Parliament and Montessori Model United Nations. There are exchanges and international programs including a 4th year ESO exchange with northern Europe.
Social and hobby activities include popular races and cross races in Girona organized by the Club, a chess tournament, and concerts and auditions in various city auditoriums. The Club also hosts concerts and music auditions and offers opportunities for different cultural activities beyond academics. Chess tournaments and art workshops are part of the extracurricular offerings.
Montessori Model United Nations MMUN and European Youth Parliament EYP foster leadership and civic engagement. Montessori Palau Girona is a private, non-state school serving ages 0–18, structured around the Montessori approach from early years through secondary education. Infant education emphasizes neuro-sensory-psychomotor development and social experience, with development materials and a multilingual foundation in four languages. Primary education follows an interdisciplinary Cosmic Education model with a long school day to support exploration, and languages taught include Catalan, Spanish, English and German. Secondary education broadens linguistic study to six languages—Catalan, Spanish, English, French, German and Latin—with extended hours for English, mathematics, languages and sciences, and opportunities for service and production occupations and internships. The Linguistic Project integrates languages throughout stages, introducing French in secondary and Cambridge and DELF qualifications. AMI accreditation underpins the Montessori method, complemented by neuroscience research and the school's Innovation and Training Section. The campus spans five buildings on 150,000 square metres, with forested areas, laboratories, and diverse sports and cultural facilities, fostering talent through external competitions such as Physics Olympiads and MMUN.
