The Psychology Department attends to pupils with special needs, with two psychologists and a speech therapist as permanent staff who respond to pupils referred by families or tutors. They establish diagnostic and detection protocols to identify needs early and coordinate with teachers for targeted academic support. Special needs pupils are attended to academically as soon as problems are detected. The Orientation and Diagnostic department provides a programme for gifted pupils. The school aims to tailor learning to individual needs to support each pupil's potential and success.
English is the principal language of teaching and learning, with immersion in English across the educational stages and class teachers who are native English speakers. Pupils study four languages: English, Catalan, Spanish, and French. In Infant Education immersion is used with one Catalan language class; Primary Education uses English for most subjects, with Spanish and Catalan taught three hours per week and French introduced from the final Primary year. In Secondary Education, some subjects are taught in English while others are taught in Spanish/Catalan, with French continuing as a foreign language. The school offers international language qualifications, including UCLES/English language certificates and DELF for French, with English language and literature taught in English at the Baccalaureate and other subjects in Spanish/Catalan.
Mental wellbeing is supported through the Psychology Department and the emphasis on emotional development. Saint George's School – Girona is a private day school for pupils aged 1 to 18, on a 20,000 square metre campus near Girona. Founded in 1988, it has grown to about 700 students taught across three buildings: Infants, Primary/Secondary, and the Baccalaureate Building. The curriculum follows a British framework with SEN‑focused, bespoke approaches. English is the principal language of teaching and learning, with immersion from early years. In Primary, all subjects are taught in English, with Catalan, Spanish and French taught regularly. In Secondary, English immersion continues; in Years 3–4 some subjects are taught in Spanish or Catalan to aid higher education preparation, and French remains a second foreign language. Cambridge UCLES examinations are offered and the school hosts DELF certificates. The campus includes a library, ICT, music, art, technology rooms, science labs, an indoor pool and a gym, plus extensive outdoor spaces such as forests, gardens, an astro-turf football pitch and courts.
