1. Request information via the web, email or telephone. Limited places are available. The information exchange provides general guidance and next steps for applicants. Additional information may be provided to clarify the process.
2. If you like, arrange a visit to the school with the admissions department. A visit helps families understand the environment and meet staff. Questions about the program, facilities and preparation can be addressed during the visit. Scheduling details are provided during initial contact.
3. Arrange interview and entrance test: The admission and documentation process is done through MY SEK Admissions. When families apply for the admission test, essential information is required to create access to the platform. You will receive instructions on how to complete the online components. The Admissions team will explain next steps.
4. Tutors receive login details to upload the necessary documents before the interview. Required documents include identity documents for both parents and students, birth certificates and marks or reports from the previous academic year. An online interview is available if the student cannot attend on-site tests. Other documents vary by academic cycle and are detailed in MYSEK Admissions. The Admissions Committee will issue the final decision.
SEK Excellence Scholarships to study the SEK university baccalaureate through the Diploma Programme (IB) at one of seven SEK authorised schools, including SEK Alborán. SEK Scholarships for Sports Performance for students with a good sports curriculum who represent the school or club and continue training at SEK International Schools. SEK Scholarships for Sporting Talent for students with the best sports and/or academic talent and results. Maria de Villotta Scholarship for Personal Effort providing students the chance to study at SEK Ciudalcampo. Felipe Segovia Award to Best SEK Student to study the SEK university baccalaureate, through the Diploma Programme, at one of seven authorised schools, or to study any form of Baccalaureate at five authorised schools. As part of SEK Education Group, Camilo José Cela University also offers grants and financial aid.
SEK International School Alborán is an international school in Almerimar, El Ejido, offering the IB programmes (PYP, MYP and DP) integrated with the Spanish curriculum for ages 0–18. Nursery begins at four months, emphasizing English-language immersion and the development of talent, creativity and emotional intelligence. The school is the only IB-authorised institution in Almería. SEK Education Group has over 130 years of history, operates more than 10 schools worldwide and serves thousands of day students from over 80 nationalities. Alborán campus spans 28,000 m2 with dedicated buildings for each stage, including a heated pool, gym and multi-sport courts, Intelligent Classrooms, science labs, a theatre, a dance studio, and a library with 10,000 titles and 25,000 volumes, plus robotics and BYOD. Day runs 08:30–18:00; the campus supports English immersion and exchanges, with languages such as French and German. In 2023, DP achieved consistently a 100% pass rate above the global average.
