SEK Alborán comprises 28,000 m2 of facilities distributed across dedicated buildings for each educational stage in the Almerimar district of El Ejido. Modern sports facilities include a covered pavilion, a gymnasium and a heated swimming pool, with extensive sports installations such as multi-sports courts and an athletics area. The campus also features Intelligent Classrooms and Innovative Spaces, New Technologies and a library, plus children's play areas for Preschool and Primary Education. The Main Library and associated learning spaces are among five locations on site, offering 10,000 titles and 25,000 volumes with digital resources and support for IB programmes.
Extensive sports installations include multi-sports courts, an athletics area, a covered pavilion-Gymnasium, a heated swimming pool, and a taekwondo classroom.
Intelligent Classrooms are open spaces from secondary education onwards. There are dedicated spaces for Physics, Chemistry and Biology laboratories; Information Technology classroom; Technology and robotics laboratory; Music rooms; Visual arts classrooms; a Dance studio; a Theatre space; and a Multi-learning classroom with a radio studio, recording and video editing suites, a 3D printer and robotics tables. All classrooms are equipped with electronic whiteboards and technology is integrated across the curriculum, including iPad projects in Preschool and Primary years 1 and 2, robotics from Preschool to Secondary, and a BYOD programme from secondary education with security lockers, cloud-based Office365 and a learning portal. Library resources include 10,000 titles and 25,000 volumes with digital resources and support for IB programmes.
The school offers a range of activities providing our students the opportunity to enrich their education from an academic, cultural, artistic and sports perspective. Places are limited and will be assigned on a strict first-come-first-serve basis.
SEK International School Alborán is an international school in Almerimar, El Ejido, offering the IB programmes (PYP, MYP and DP) integrated with the Spanish curriculum for ages 0–18. Nursery begins at four months, emphasizing English-language immersion and the development of talent, creativity and emotional intelligence. The school is the only IB-authorised institution in Almería.
