Language Provision

English is the language of instruction across the curriculum. Spanish is compulsory for all students up to Year 12; Catalan is compulsory for Spanish native students, while non-native learners follow English-based courses; French is taught as a second language. Three English Language Pathways are available in Years 10–11: Pathway 1 English Language iGCSE and English Literature iGCSE; Pathway 2 English as a Second Language iGCSE and English Literature iGCSE; Pathway 3 English as a Second Language iGCSE. EAL support is provided for non-native English speakers, including assessment and tailored learning plans. All non-language subjects are taught in English. The school offers extra-curricular language clubs and Teach the Teacher initiatives to promote multilingualism.

Located near Barcelona, The British College of Gavà is a British international school serving Nursery to Year 13 and part of Inspired Education Group since its founding in 2015. The campus sits on a large, green site among pine trees, with separate areas for Early Years, Primary and Secondary and a fully enclosed campus for safety. The school uses English-language instruction with EAL support, and languages include French from Year 3, plus Spanish and Catalan as foreign languages. In Primary, the curriculum follows the English National Curriculum up to GCSE (Year 11), before students transition to the IB Diploma Programme in Years 12–13. The Diploma core includes Theory of Knowledge, Creativity, Activity and Service, and the Extended Essay, with Education for Sustainable Development embedded through CAS. The school also offers the IB Career-related Programme with partner organisations in Performing Arts, Innovation in Sports and Entrepreneurship. Facilities include three science laboratories, a large sports hall, a multi-purpose auditorium, outdoor playing fields and Forest School, plus two IT suites with iMacs. The campus hosts music, drama and dance, an e-Athletes program, and the Duke of Edinburgh Award.
