Yago School Málaga emphasises ICT and a challenge-driven curriculum that integrates technology across learning. Robotics, programming, 3D design and printing, digital design, computational thinking and Design Thinking are taught from early years as part of STEAM education. Lego Studio Robotix, a LEGO Education Innovation Studio, provides hands-on robotics projects across Primary and Secondary and connects projects through different subjects. From PYP 7 and Secondary onward, students use an iPad or MacBook as part of daily learning to support research and creation.
Art and music are central to Yago School Málaga's holistic education. Plastic and artistic education covers designing, painting and sculpting from nursery onward, fostering imagination, perception and aesthetic taste. Music education emphasizes vocal and instrumental development, piano from primary years, and group experiences such as choir and the Yago School Band. The school provides two fully equipped music classrooms, a professional recording studio, and an art room with resources for 2D, 3D and other media, with opportunities to pursue ABRSM certification.
Languages at Yago School Málaga are taught with strong English immersion; 70% of daily classes are taught in English, with Spanish used for other subjects, and Mandarin Chinese is compulsory from Early Years with French available from Secondary. Cambridge ESOL exams are offered, and the school is an official Confucius Institute center for YCT and HSK exams. The school promotes language and cultural immersion abroad through exchanges and study stays, including international exchanges and a two-week cultural exchange with The Newman School in Boston.
Extracurricular activities extend beyond sports to arts and personal development. Arts, Music & Homework Club run after school from 5:15 p.m. to 6:15 p.m., with a 10€ annual registration per activity, and instruments such as violin and guitar may require an aptitude test; photography occurs weekly; Homework Club runs two sessions per week. Drama lessons run from S1 to S4, and Drawing and Painting are offered from PYP 2 onward. There are additional activities such as Chess Lunch and a range of sports-based clubs and trips.
