The secondary program for 12-15-year-olds is the first International Montessori Secondary program in Aragón. The program is English-based with English as the vehicle language and 50% of content taught in English; French is taught as a third language. It incorporates official Educación Secundaria Obligatoria contents with a reduced teacher–student ratio of 1:6 and extended hours for mathematics, science, and language. It also provides Latin and Philosophy from 1st ESO, microeconomics internships, community service, and opportunities for international exchanges, including an annual French exchange.
Creative Expression covers Visual Arts, Performance Arts, and Physical Expression, with students exploring painting, printing, sculpture, dance, photography, music, drama, and writing, supported by specialists. Across the curriculum, students engage with a range of media to express their talents, interests, and emotions and to connect with others.
The school operates a multilingual environment and is international and trilingual (English, Spanish, and French). English is the language of instruction, French is taught as a third language, and there are annual exchanges to France. The Montessori program includes opportunities for international student exchanges with other Montessori schools.
Enrichment activities span cultural, entrepreneurship, and microeconomics programs that enrich social, academic, and emotional development. After-school activities are offered in English and Spanish, including Chinese language, programming, and sports such as swimming and Datchball. The adolescent program includes three overnight trips each year: The Odyssey Trip, The Farm Trip, and The Cultural Trip.
Community Service is embedded in the curriculum with volunteering opportunities and microeconomics projects, fostering social responsibility.
Academic instruction includes individualized tutoring and mentoring; there is an extended day with additional hours for mathematics, science, and language under the Excellence Academics track. Latin and Philosophy are introduced from 1º ESO as part of holistic student formation, and Micro-Economics Internships provide early professional exposure; students also participate in community service.
The After School program offers a broad range of activities in English and Spanish, including Chinese, programming, and sports; Summer Camp runs in June–August with options for Little Summer Camp (2–5) and Super Summer Camp (6–12). Swimming activities are offered in collaboration with Stadium Casablanca, and Datchball is played within Zaragoza SchoolHouse programs, promoting physical and creative development.
Zaragoza SchoolHouse is a private international Montessori school in Zaragoza, Spain, serving ages 1 to 14. It follows an AMI Montessori pedagogy across Infantil, Primary and Secondary cycles, with English as the vehicular language and Jolly Phonics supporting English-language work. It is NEASC-accredited and officially recognized as an international school by the Government of Aragon. In Secondary, the program integrates an official ESO curriculum with extended hours in mathematics, physics and chemistry, plus a broad offering in music, art, programming and languages; Latin and Philosophy are taught from 1st ESO. The campus spans 8,000 m2 of gardens and Nature Classroom, with spaces for carpentry, architecture and agroecology, all used to extend Montessori learning outdoors. A dedicated kitchen serves meals in classrooms, and transport links include bus line 57 and nearby Argualas tram. After-school, summer camps and an extracurricular program in English and Spanish include swimming, Datchball, language classes and programming.
