The school provides language support services, including additional English lessons to help students strengthen their English skills.
LUYA International High School uses a full-immersion English approach for its 7–12 program. In the Senior High School Diploma Programme, courses are taught primarily in English, with Chinese scaffolding to support language development for non-native speakers. The campus maintains an all-English environment across the program, and there is targeted English language support to help students access IB coursework.
LUYA emphasizes immersive English teaching across the curriculum. Beyond-the-classroom language exchange programs pair LUYA students with peers in the United States and the United Kingdom who are learning Chinese, enabling one-on-one bilingual exchanges in Chinese and English. Through these exchanges, students practice authentic language use in intercultural contexts within the IB framework.
