Admissions

How to apply, waitlist information, and financial support

Admissions Process

1. Determine eligibility and intake path. For the 114th academic year, admission for Dayuan International Senior High School operates under the Taoyuan District's免試入學 (non-exam) admission guidelines. The school follows these district guidelines to determine enrollment, and the process is described as part of the district's免試入學章程. There is no reference to a separate school-specific exam phase in these materials.

2. Prepare and submit the New Student Information Form. Between July 8 and July 16, all newly admitted students must complete the New Student Information Form, which takes about 20 minutes. The form collects basic personal information, lunch preferences, and course selections, and must be completed by every admitted student. The form submission is coordinated through the school's new student administration process.

3. Apply for optional special programs (International Humanities English Experiment Class and the Second Foreign Language course). For these tracks, students may register by completing Google Forms or registering on-site. On registration day, a fee is payable: 200 yuan for the International Humanities English Experiment Class, and 100 yuan for the Second Foreign Language course; payment completes the sign-up.

4. Attend the New Student Registration day. On July 10, 08:00–12:00, new student registration occurs for Regular, Sports, and IB/Overseas classes, and students must report. There is a separate on-site process and staff assigned to the Registration Office for this day. It is important not to be late, and to complete the registration by 12:00.

5. Take the International Humanities English Experiment Class assessment. On July 10, 13:30–16:00, the International Humanities English Experiment Class conducts a test/assessment focused on English and career exploration. This assessment is part of the on-site activities for students enrolling in the IB/Overseas pathways.

6. Complete the Second Foreign Language exploration course assessment.

7. Check the student ID assignment.

8. Prepare for uniform collection and purchase. New students proceed to the uniform kit sizing and purchase in the first teaching building (3rd floor, room 109–202). Bring the exact cash amount for purchases, as the order total is listed in attachments. The distribution is regionally scheduled to reduce crowding.

9. Attend New Student Training. New students attend the unified training session. Attendance is emphasized as very important, and leaves can be granted only for major incidents with a written note.

10. Complete summer homework. By August 29, all new students (Regular and Sports tracks) are expected to complete the assigned summer homework. The page provides the English and Chinese assignments guidance and materials to prepare before the first week of classes.

11. Monitor registration status and coordinate with offices as needed. The school provides a New Student Information System for tracking check-in status and data submission. If any discrepancy appears between reported data and records, families should correct the information within the designated time frame. For inquiries, contact the Registration Office, International Affairs Center, Counseling Office, or other relevant units as listed.

Waitlist

There is no public language or posted waitlist/pool system described in the school's admissions materials.

Scholarships and Financial Aid

The school offers a Foreign Language Proficiency Award program. The awards recognize performance across multiple language tests (e.g., JLPT, Japanese; German; French; English proficiency tests such as TOEIC, IELTS, TOEFL; DELF/DELF-DALF; GEPT; and other listed examinations). Applicants must submit a formal online application (via the school's site path: Student Zone > Foreign Language Proficiency Award Application) and print the online form, sign it, and submit the original certificates to the school's office. The program provides tiered rewards (e.g., 1000–3000 yuan) depending on the test level and combination of awards. The 115th academic year schedule indicates a submission window from 115/03/02 to 115/03/27, with results announced afterward.
