American Pacific International School was founded by Kritsanant Palarit in August 1997, with its first academic year serving Grades 7–10. In 2000, a Kindergarten campus opened in Chiang Mai, and due to growth, the purpose-built Primary Campus was established in 2014 to serve Pre‑Nursery through Grade 6 students under the name APISP .
APISP values parent and family involvement through regular invites to share in student learning via assemblies, community events, and support networks. Families engage via digital platforms like Seesaw, have opportunities to support sports teams, and are encouraged to volunteer and participate in school life.
At APIS the Parent Support Group (PSG) includes all families at the Primary Campus. The PSG meets monthly, welcomes volunteers, supports new families settling in, contributes to parent education sessions, organizes community events, and serves as a collective voice for parents on academic and social matters.
Located near Mae Hia Market in suburban Chiang Mai, APIS’s Primary Campus welcomes children aged 3 to 12 (Pre‑Nursery through Grade 6). Opened as a dedicated campus in 2014, it delivers the IB Primary Years Programme, guiding students through inquiry-based learning structured around six transdisciplinary themes, with the culminating PYP Exhibition. English is the language of instruction, and students also engage in additional languages, reflecting the school-wide language offerings. No boarding is available at this campus—local day students can access optional bus transport. Though precise class sizes and enrolment numbers aren’t published, the overall school community spans over 400 students—a diverse, co‑educational environment. Leadership at the Primary Campus is headed by Primary School Principal Stephanie Dracz with School Director Ladda A. Mahidi, providing oversight of curriculum and community engagement.
