Parent Experience

Community, involvement and what it's like to be a parent at this school

History

Ascot International School began in 1995 as Park Place International School to fill a need for early-years education in Bangkok’s Saphan Sung district. It expanded into primary education soon after, and by 2009 had opened a secondary school. The institution was renamed Ascot around that time, became a Cambridge IGCSE centre in 2010, earned CIS accreditation in 2011 and 2014, and received IB Diploma authorisation in 2016.

Community

Ascot hosts regular community events such as Harmony Day and Chinese New Year celebrations, which involve students, families, and staff in cultural and inclusive activities . Its school newsletter, "Jod Mai Khao," is published every two weeks to keep the community informed about campus life and upcoming events

Parent-Teacher Association

The school does not publicly detail a formal Parent Teacher Association on its website.

However, it includes active parental engagement through events like International Day, cultural celebrations, and regular parent–teacher meetings coordinated by class teachers and form tutors. These forums allow parents to support events, volunteer, and receive updates on school activities such as Harmony Day and seasonal fairs.

Ascot International School, located in Bangkok’s Saphan Sung district, offers an International Baccalaureate (IB) education from Early Years to Diploma Programme. Founded in 1995, it caters to students aged 2–18 and delivers the IB Primary Years Programme (PYP) and Diploma Programme (DP), with the Middle Years Programme (MYP) in candidacy. Students in Years 10–11 also complete IGCSE qualifications. Instruction is in English, with Thai, Mandarin, and other world languages taught as additional subjects. Ascot’s standout feature is its integrated Football Academy, operated in partnership with Thai Premier League coaches, and housed in a covered futsal stadium. The school supports science and ICT learning through dedicated labs and computer suites, and encourages creativity with visual and performing arts spaces. Its small size - around 500 pupils - supports close community ties. Parents overseas will find a structured curriculum with internationally recognized assessments and a focus on developing multilingual, confident learners.
