Wellbeing and Support

How students are nurtured, understood, and kept safe

Social and Emotional Learning (SEL)

Concordian’s Counselling Department provides SEL support through individual and group counselling tailored to students’ personal, emotional, and social development. Counsellors also lead classroom guidance lessons on topics like self-concept, conflict resolution, study skills, decision-making, peer pressure, bullying prevention, and cultural awareness. They collaborate with teachers, administrators, and parents to meet student needs and may refer families to community professionals when necessary.

Special Educational Needs (SEN)

The school’s counselling team can identify students who may need additional support and help arrange appropriate interventions in consultation with teachers and staff. However, Concordian does not publicly disclose information about specific types of SEN supported or whether they have specialist provision.

English as an Additional Language (EAL)

Concordian offers additional support in English, Chinese, and Thai to assist with language development across grade levels. However, the school does not explicitly describe any EAL-specific program, staffing, or instructional model dedicated to students for whom English is an additional language.

Mental Wellbeing

Counselors at Concordian provide students with support for emotional wellbeing through one-on-one and group counseling sessions. They help students manage concerns that may interfere with their personal development or learning. In cases requiring further care, the school may recommend referrals to external mental health professionals.

Safeguarding

Concordian International School outlines clear child protection principles and safeguarding standards. Staff are required to maintain professional boundaries, report incidents of concern, and never exploit the adult-student power dynamic. The policy stresses the importance of respectful, caring relationships, prohibits the use of physical punishment or degrading treatment, and bans the use of school equipment for inappropriate content. Faculty must also ensure that any physical or digital interaction with students is appropriate, documented, and professionally justified. Safeguarding standards are grounded in maintaining student welfare and preventing abuse or neglect at all times.

Concordian International School, founded in 2001 and situated along the Bangna‑Trad Highway, is a full Pre‑K to Grade 12 IB World School educating around 1,100 students in Greater Bangkok, Samut Prakan . From Nursery to Grade 4, children learn via a trilingual immersion program—roughly 45 % English, 40 % Chinese and 15 % Thai—and from Grade 5 onwards the curriculum transitions to fully in English, with Chinese and Thai as academic subject languages . The school offers all three IB programmes, PYP, MYP, DP, and typical class sizes are 16–18 students. Facilities include multiple sports venues (pools, courts, gyms), with strong participation in AISAA competitions . Unique to Concordian is its Chinese‑English immersion in early years, supported by a wide range of clubs, from robotics, chess, community service, and performing arts to Chinese language and yoga.
