Academic and Intellectual

MYIS offers the Primary Years Programme (PYP) for ages 3–12 and the Middle Years Programme (MYP) for ages 11–16 as part of its IB World School status. The school balances the American curriculum with the IB framework to support holistic growth. Learning emphasizes inquiry-based approaches and hands-on exploration, with projects that connect multiple disciplines. In the final year of the MYP, students undertake a personal project, and the school maintains ongoing IB authorization and professional development to uphold IB standards.

MYIS has a Visual Art Studio and a Music Room as part of its campus facilities. Art and music are led by dedicated specialists, including an Art Teacher and a Music Head Teacher. After-school clubs include arts-related offerings such as Watercolor, Music, Dance, Orchestra, and Drama Club among others. The campus also features two libraries and a Design Technology space to support creative work.

Cultural and Language

Language of instruction is English. English is the language of inclusion at MYIS, with regular inclusion of Thai language and culture; Thai classes are scheduled weekly for younger students and daily for Grade 1 and above. Mandarin is offered as an additional language through Mandarin instruction. MYIS is an IB World School with a global, internationally-minded framework.

Social and Hobbies

Athletics programs include teams in basketball, football/soccer, badminton, volleyball, swimming, golf, gymnastics, cheerleading, pickleball, jiu-jitsu, and taekwondo, with active BISAL participation. After-school clubs also provide opportunities for socialization, collaboration, and creativity beyond the classroom.

Community and Service

Service as Action is part of MYIS's Middle Years Programme framework, fostering community engagement and real-world application of learning. Parent involvement is supported through a Parent Group (PWG) and regular parent workshops. The school shares news and updates with families, supporting ongoing community connection. BISAL membership and events further strengthen the school's ties to the broader international-school community in Bangkok.

Leadership and Professional

The school is led by Head of School Tahireh Thampi, with Caty Romero serving as Secondary School Principal. The leadership team includes program coordinators for the IB components: Sofia Ong (Early Years Coordinator), Bethany Turner (PYP Coordinator), and Robert Deyermenjian (MYP Coordinator). The teaching staff includes Coordinators for the different IB programs, and leaders participate in ongoing IB professional development.
