Regents International School Pattaya was founded in 1995 to serve the growing international and expatriate communities in Thailand’s Eastern Seaboard region. Originally established by Dr. Virachai Techavijit under the ownership of the Regents Schools group, the school began with a small student population and rapidly grew due to demand for British-style international education. In 2001, it became a member of Round Square, reflecting its commitment to internationalism, democracy, and service. In 2012, the school joined Nord Anglia Education, a global network of international schools. This transition brought increased access to global learning initiatives and collaborative partnerships, including those with MIT and The Juilliard School. Over the years, the campus expanded to include boarding houses, purpose-built performing arts spaces, and STEAM facilities, while maintaining a strong emphasis on student wellbeing and inclusion.
The school community at Regents is notably diverse, with families representing over 50 nationalities. Community engagement is central to school life, with a calendar of cultural and social events that encourage participation from students, parents, and staff. A major highlight is the International Day, where students and families collaborate to present national costumes, music, performances, and food stalls that reflect their heritage. Other events include House competitions, Carols by Candlelight, the Prize Day ceremony, and fundraising initiatives that support local charities and sustainability efforts. The school’s inclusive approach also fosters engagement through after-school activities, residential trips, and leadership opportunities, contributing to a strong sense of connection among its boarding and day students.
All parents become members of the Parent Supporters Group (PSG) upon enrolment. The PSG meets monthly, offering presentations by leadership or guest speakers and acting as a two-way communication channel with the school. This group organises events like Welcome Coffee mornings for new families, cultural events such as Carols by Candlelight, and fundraising activities supporting community partners and school events. PSG posts include updates on parent education workshops and regular collaboration with the school leadership team on school policy and development.
