RISR integrates the Second Step program to foster skills including empathy, emotion management, and responsible decision-making. Additionally, the SHAPE standards—which cover mental and emotional health, personal safety, and social responsibility—support the broader development of social-emotional skills. In Middle School, character development is reinforced through the International School Counseling Association (ISCA) standards, addressing academic behaviors, personal well-being, and career exploration within an advisory framework built on Responsive Classroom and Restorative Justice practice.
RISR operates a Learning Support (LS) program involving collaboration between learning support staff, classroom teachers, and the school psychologist. The LS team provides personalized accommodations to help students access the general curriculum and requires an updated psychological or educational evaluation if not conducted in the past 12 months. The school is not a specialist SEN institution, but it offers support to students identified through assessment.
RISR provides an English Language Development (ELD) program for students who have not previously studied in an English‑medium school. Placement into ELD is based on the WIDA assessment (covering listening, reading, speaking, and writing) administered by the ELD faculty.
The school’s Middle School advisory programs support personal and social well‑being, offering strategies for emotional growth and reflective learning. During Summer School, programs such as “Healthy Heroes: Strong Bodies, Happy Minds” address mental and emotional well‑being through themes of mindfulness, resilience, and social connection. There is no separate mention of counselors or dedicated mental health staff beyond these features.
According to the RIS Child Safeguarding Code of Conduct & Policy, safeguarding applies to all staff, faculty, contractors, drivers, and external coaches. Staff are required to report any suspected abuse within 24 hours to a counselor or administrator. The policy covers physical, emotional, and sexual abuse, as well as neglect, and aligns with the Thai Child Protection Act (2003) and the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child. A formal reporting procedure involves counselors, psychologists, the Head of School, and outside authorities if needed. RIS also conducts annual training, distributes the safeguarding policy to families, and includes child protection awareness in hiring practices.
Located just north of Bangkok in Nonthaburi, Ruamrudee International School’s Ratchapruek Campus (RISR) opened in August 2019 and serves students from Pre‑K 2 through Grade 11, with its first Grade 12 cohort launching in August 2025. Students follow a modified American curriculum aligned with AERO standards and, in upper grades, may choose between the IB Diploma Programme or the AP track. The school emphasizes inquiry-based STEM learning, service projects aligned with the UN Sustainable Development Goals, and creative expression through arts competitions and summer art classes. With English as the medium of instruction, and character development rooted in the “union of hearts” philosophy, RISR offers a nurturing and community-minded environment for international families seeking academic, creative, and service-oriented growth.
