Thai is taught as a compulsory language in Elementary School, with Thai language and literacy required for all students; non-Thai students learn about Thai culture. In Middle School, modern languages offered are Mandarin, Spanish, Japanese, and Thai. In High School, RIS provides additional modern languages as electives. RIS also provides English Language Development (ELD) and Learning Support for English learners; ELD levels range from beginner to advanced and include push-in and pull-out supports, with progress monitored by MAP, NWEA, and WIDA MODEL.
RIS provides English-language immersion through the English Language Development (ELD) program. ELD immerses language learners in a rich English-speaking environment and places them in core mainstream subjects. Small-group pull-out and language support classes are used to accelerate English development, with push-in supports in mainstream classes. Ruamrudee International School (RIS) is a private, Catholic international school located in Minburi, Bangkok. Founded in 1957, RIS offers education from Pre-Kindergarten to Grade 12 welcoming students of all faiths and nationalities.
