RIS embeds SEL in its counselling and Student Study Team process. Section-based counsellors regularly meet with students, collaborating with teachers and parents to develop welfare or support plans. The school offers explicit lessons on topics like digital citizenship, safe touch, and peer behaviour in elementary and middle school. Staff receive yearly training on recognizing and reporting emotional distress and bullying. SEL support continues through small-group and individual counselling across all levels.
RIS offers a Learning Support (LS) programme from Pre‑K to Grade 12, focused on students with identified learning difficulties in areas like reading, writing, or mathematics. Identified students receive psychological and educational evaluations, then follow an Individual Education Plan (IEP) developed by a multidisciplinary team including parents, teachers, counsellors, psychologists, speech therapists, and LS teachers. RIS provides a structured English Language Development (ELD) programme across all sections to help non-native speakers reach academic-level English fluency. Beginner to advanced learners are grouped by proficiency and receive support via pull-out, push-in, or co-teaching in mainstream classes. Progress is tracked with MAP, NWEA, and WIDA MODEL assessments, with accommodations applied as students advance.
RIS’s section counselors engage directly with students to monitor wellbeing, identifying personal, social, and academic issues while collaborating with teachers and parents as needed. The Student Study Team oversees this process to ensure coordinated support for mental wellness. Support is delivered collaboratively, involving teachers, parents, and, in some cases, external professionals to better understand and address each student’s needs.
RIS maintains a dedicated Child Safeguarding Task Force, led by a Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL), supported by deputies, counselors, and section principals. It enforces a safeguarding code of conduct aligned with the Thai Child Protection Act and UN Convention on the Rights of the Child. All staff undergo annual safeguarding and conduct training, and recruitment includes police checks along with formal conduct policies for visitors and staff. Electronic gate systems, ID card access, CCTV monitoring, and reporting protocols support on-site child protection.
