Parent Experience

Community, involvement and what it's like to be a parent at this school

History

Silver Fern International School was founded in 2016 to serve families in Roi Et who wanted an international option without sending children to schools outside the province. As of 2023, SFIS operated nine classes from EYP 1 (ages 3–4) to Middle Years 1 (ages 11–12), with a plan to add one grade level each year until completion of secondary school. The school does not publicly disclose its ownership structure in the materials reviewed.

Community

SFIS runs a full annual calendar of community and cultural events, including International Day, Loy Krathong, Chinese New Year Celebration, Sports Day, Book Week, Swimming Gala, PYP Exhibition, Student-Led Conferences, and Graduation. In addition, SFIS hosts the Roi Et Spelling Bee, inviting students from schools across the province, an outreach event that connects SFIS with the wider community.

Parent-Teacher Association

SFIS has a PTA with elected class representatives each year; every class chooses one parent to serve as liaison between the class and the PTA. Representatives attend PTA meetings, collect feedback from families, and collaborate with teachers and school leaders on initiatives and projects that support students.
