Curriculum

Wells Chonburi adopts a modified American curriculum aligned with U.S. Common Core Standards, enriched with Thai cultural awareness and sustainability values through the “baan‑wat‑rong rien” philosophy.

In Early Years and Primary (Nursery through Grade 5), students build foundational skills in literacy, numeracy, science, social studies, arts, physical education, and languages such as Thai or Mandarin, taught through thematic and inquiry-based approaches.

During Middle School (Grades 6–8), learning emphasizes critical thinking, collaboration, and IB-influenced inquiry pedagogy, promoting skill progression and concept integration year-on-year.

At High School (Grades 9–12), students complete a U.S. high school diploma programme, with options to enroll in Advanced Placement (AP) courses starting in Grade 10, or pursue the IB Diploma Programme in Grades 11–12.

The school provides university and career guidance alongside opportunities like AP Capstone, internships, job shadows, and CAS experiences as part of the IB framework.

Wells International School’s Chonburi Campus opened in August 2022 as Wells’ fifth campus in Thailand, serving students aged 2 to about 14 (nursery through Grade 8) and expanding gradually to Grade 12 by August 2024. Set on an agricultural site in Ban Bueng, Chonburi Province, the school blends a modified American curriculum with AP and IB Diploma options at upper levels and integrates Thai sustainability values through hands‑on farm learning and the “baan‑wat‑rong rien” lifestyle philosophy. Class sizes are capped around 25; current enrolment is about 150 and growing. Students are taught in English by native‑English teachers and the campus provides a bus service for local families.
