Wellbeing and Support

How students are nurtured, understood, and kept safe

Social and Emotional Learning (SEL)

ANPS supports social and emotional learning through a formal Wellbeing Strategy that covers mental health, behavior, student protection, inclusion, staff wellbeing, and specialist services, with annual wellbeing action plans and initiatives such as assemblies, workshops, anti-bullying campaigns, healthy lifestyle programs, and mindfulness sessions; a Wellbeing Lead/Wellbeing Committee oversees implementation, and a School Counselor and Inclusion Team provide direct student support, intervention plans, and referrals.

Special Educational Needs (SEN)

ANPS follows an inclusive model aligned with ADEK Inclusion Policy; inclusion initiatives will accommodate students of all abilities and needs, and the School Counselor & Inclusion Team provide support, intervention plans, and referrals.

English as an Additional Language (EAL)

English is the language of instruction at ANPS, as indicated by the International Baccalaureate (IB) page listing Language of instruction as English; the site also has a Learning Support policy, implying formal arrangements for learners who require additional assistance, though no publicly disclosed, distinct EAL program is specified.

Mental Wellbeing

ANPS's Wellbeing Policy defines wellbeing across mental, emotional, social, physical, digital, and environmental health, and outlines a Wellbeing Strategy with annual action plans and initiatives such as assemblies, workshops, anti-bullying campaigns, healthy lifestyle programs, and mindfulness sessions; a Wellbeing Lead/Committee and a School Counselor & Inclusion Team provide ongoing support and intervention.

Safeguarding

ANPS maintains a Student Protection & Safeguarding Policy aligned with ADEK and UAE law; it defines maltreatment, sets reporting procedures, assigns roles (Child Protection Coordinator, school social worker, teachers as mandated reporters), and outlines confidentiality, prevention, and education, with contact points for the CPC and ADEK CPU.
