AGS is an American IB Continuum School delivering American standards through the IB framework. It offers the Primary Years Programme (PYP), Middle Years Programme (MYP), Diploma Programme (DP), and Career-related Programme (CP) alongside an American High School Diploma pathway, with a dual diploma option in Grade 12. It is the only school in Sharjah authorized to offer the full IB continuum. SAT and IELTS preparation, college application support, and career planning are provided.
AGS offers after-school Extracurricular Activities (ECAs) including music, art, and podcasting. The STREAM Projects hub provides hands-on study in STEM, VR, robotics, and 3D printing, aligned with IB and American standards. Students participate in exhibitions such as the PYP and Personal Project Exhibition. External field trips extend learning throughout the year, with at least four trips annually.
Arabic Language & UAE Culture are components of the Primary Years Programme. In the Early Years, a 50/50 bilingual teaching methodology for Arabic, Math, and Science is used. Language Acquisition in the MYP includes Arabic, French, or Spanish. The Modern Foreign Languages program offers Chinese and French.
AGS offers Extracurricular Activities after school free of charge, including music, art, and podcasting. External trips are planned throughout the year, with each grade expected to experience at least four field trips. STREAM Projects include LEGO robotics and VR experiences. First LEGO League teams have earned awards for coding.
Service Learning is embedded in the IB Middle Years Programme, guiding students to plan, implement, and reflect on community projects. There are community service and leadership opportunities beyond the classroom. The Recognition & Success framework highlights a pillar for Community and Wellbeing, and the school collaborates with universities and industry partners to support community engagement.
Career Counselling helps students explore their interests, values, and future goals. The program provides university connections, internships, and career planning workshops. AGS maintains university partnerships with institutions such as Ajman University and the University of Europe for Applied Sciences, and IDP IELTS support to facilitate language testing.
Wellbeing is a core pillar alongside Academics, Sports, Culture, and Community. Middle School includes Physical & Health Education. Health awareness sessions, such as Dettol handwashing programs, are part of wellbeing initiatives. External trips and service-learning experiences contribute to physical and mental wellbeing.
