The leadership includes a Director of Student Affairs who leads comprehensive pastoral care and facilitates the development of students' character within the IB Learner Profile, and who also serves as the school's Child Protection Coordinator. A dedicated pastoral team and inclusion provision underpin student support across the school. The About section notes that student wellbeing is a core part of the care provided and that there is a full-time school nurse on site to support health-related wellbeing during the day. This emphasis on wellbeing is reflected in practices that foster a safe, supportive school environment.

Special Educational Needs (SEN)

Bateen World Academy's Inclusion Policy explicitly covers SoD (Students of Determination), Gifted and Talented (G&T), and English as an Additional Language (EAL). The policy identifies a leadership structure including a Head of Inclusion, a Head of G&T, and a Head of EAL to oversee inclusion provision. Standard inclusive provision is described as a tiered model of support (Tier 1–3) with Documentation Learning Plans (DLPs) such as Learning Plans (IEP), Enrichment Plans (ALP), and Behavior Intervention Plans (BIP), stored in CPOMS. Identification and referral for SoD, G&T, and EAL are part of the policy, employing assessments and consultations with staff, parents, and pupils. Exiting EAL support is defined, including criteria and ongoing monitoring after cessation.

English as an Additional Language (EAL)

EAL is included as a core element in the Inclusion Policy, ensuring provision for multilingual learners who need language support. There is a Head of EAL who leads EAL provision as part of the inclusion leadership team. EAL identification uses the WIDA Model, CAT4, and other assessments to determine needs. WIDA Can Do Portraits are created for each EAL student to inform teaching strategies. Exiting EAL support follows defined criteria, with ongoing monitoring after cessation.

Mental Wellbeing

The safeguarding framework includes a focus on mental health and wellbeing through designated roles such as Counsellors/Mental Health Leads. Students have access to counselling and mental health support as part of safeguarding and welfare services. Roles include a Designated Safeguarding Lead/Child Protection Coordinator and Deputy Safeguarding Leads who lead safeguarding activities. Staff training, safe recruitment, whistleblowing procedures, and the use of the CPOMS safeguarding platform to manage case records are mandated.
