Bloom World Academy opened in August 2022 on the site of the former Dwight School Dubai, on Bloom's Al Barsha campus that also hosts Brighton College Dubai. Bloom Education, part of National Holding, established Bloom World Academy as the UAE's stand-alone progressive school. It was conceived as an all-through IB-focused school for ages 4 to 18, with initial operations up to Grade 9 and a phased expansion that included a pre-university centre by 2024. The academy delivers the International Baccalaureate continuum and uses English as the language of instruction, with IB authorisation obtained in 2024.
Bloom World Academy follows a family-first community model with parents as partners in learning, contributing to the Learner Achievement Passport and monthly progress reviews. An Open Door Policy allows parents to visit classrooms and participate in school life, including productions, exhibitions and sporting events. Friday mornings are designated Celebration Mornings when families are invited to see student performances and receive awards. These practices foster ongoing parent involvement and a shared sense of purpose in student development.
The school uses a Parent Partnership model as its PTA-like framework, with parents integral to the child's education. Parents contribute to the Learner Achievement Passport and participate in monthly progress reviews with the school. The Open Door Policy allows parents to visit classrooms and engage in school life, including productions, exhibitions and sporting events. Friday mornings are celebrated as Celebration Mornings when families are invited to view performances and awards. This structure provides ongoing channels for parental feedback and involvement in school life.
