Capital School offers a broad extra-curricular program that supports academic and intellectual development. The program includes Mindfulness, Art, Homework Club, Student Newspaper, Drama, Debate Club, Choir, Band, School Council, Eco-Warriors and a STEM Club. Arabic Club and Islamic Club (Quran recitations) are also part of ECAs. These activities help students develop collaboration, critical thinking and academic engagement.
Arts and music are integral to Capital School life. The ECA program includes Art, Drama, Choir and Band, and Ballet. The Music curriculum covers five strands: Performing, Creating and Composing, Notation, Listening and Appreciation, and Music in Society. Students have opportunities to showcase their talents through concerts and performances.
From FS1, all students study French and Arabic alongside English. Primary Years include French language study, and Arabic and Islamic Studies are integrated into the curriculum across year groups. Arabic language competitions and Quran-related activities reinforce language and culture.
The school supports social development and hobbies through a broad ECA program, including Student Council and Mindfulness. Sports options include Netball, Gymnastics, Football and Water Polo, plus activities such as Construction/Lego, Board Games, Arabic Club and Islamic Club (Quran recitations). The ECAs promote teamwork, leadership and personal interests outside classroom learning.
Inclusion Pathways guide inclusive education in line with KHDA directives. The Inclusion Department provides early intervention, monitoring and collaboration with specialists to support students. Eco-Warriors and the School Council enable student-led community initiatives and engagement with peers and broader environment themes.
Each student is assigned a House Tutor who provides daily guidance. The school offers Personal, Social and Health Education (PSHE) and careers guidance, along with English language development pathways and qualifications such as IELTS, CEPA and ICDL where relevant. The School Council and other leadership opportunities develop student confidence and professional skills.
Mindfulness is part of the extra-curricular program and wellbeing is supported through a focus on Happiness and Well-Being initiatives. The school emphasises a safe, supportive environment and personal development through PSHE and the Inclusion Pathways framework. The House Tutor system reinforces social, mental and emotional development across the student body.
