Arabic is compulsory for KG1 to Year 9. From Year 3 onwards in primary, students may study French or Spanish, with 120 minutes of MFL instruction per week. In secondary, both languages are offered from Year 7. A Mother Tongue program provides 2-3 hours per week of language instruction in Danish, Dutch, Finnish, French, German, Hindi, Italian, Spanish, Swedish and Mandarin, scheduled within the timetable and taught by native-speaking teachers; the language of instruction is English.
