Arabic is taught from Kindergarten as either a first language or a foreign language, in line with local authorities and the Emirati program that develops the four language competencies defined by the CEFR. French occupies a central role and is not limited to being a language of schooling; students are constantly exposed to French as the language of communication and in projects. French is the vehicle of instruction, linking the sciences and the arts and embedding humanistic values with innovation. Arabic as a foreign language is offered, and from the fifth grade, students may take Spanish courses during the 2022–2023 school year.
