Raha International School opened its Gardens Campus in 2006 in Al Raha Gardens, Abu Dhabi. It is part of Taaleem, the UAE-based school operator founded in 2004. To meet growing demand for IB education, Raha opened Khalifa City Campus in September 2020 in Khalifa City to complement the Gardens Campus. Khalifa City Campus initially housed Early Years to Grade 10, with plans to grow to Grade 12, and leadership and planning across both campuses are shared to maintain a consistent culture. ADEK rated Khalifa City Campus as Good in AY 2023/24, the highest possible mark for a new school.
Raha's community is internationally diverse, with students from over 80 nationalities. The two campuses share an IB continuum and a common ethos, and the schools host a range of community events that span Gardens and Khalifa City Campus, including UAE National Day celebrations. Families stay connected through campus-specific communications, such as Khalifa City Campus Raha Reminders, which publish newsletters and updates. These communications include cross-campus features and updates such as the KCC Connection, Fall 2023 edition, illustrating ongoing community life.
Khalifa City Campus has a formal parent involvement structure with a KCC Parent Ambassadors program. There is a dedicated parent communications hub, Khalifa City Campus Raha Reminders, for newsletters and updates to families. The KCC Raha Reminders publish regular issues for the 2023/2024 academic year, including Issue 31 (dated 24 May) and a KCC Connection Fall 2023 edition. Gardens Campus also runs a parallel Raha Reminders communications channel for families. These PTA-facing channels facilitate family engagement and volunteer collaboration with staff across both campuses.
