Raha International School Khalifa City Campus provides Social and Emotional Learning (SEL) through a Wellbeing program that treats the school as a supportive community. Wellbeing is embedded into every grade level, supported by grade level leaders, Heads of Grade, Heads of Pastoral Care for each division, and school counsellors. These roles are designed to embed the IB Learner Profile throughout the curriculum to foster a positive school culture. The aim is to empower every student to manage their well-being and to thrive in all aspects of life beyond the classroom. The Khalifa City Campus Wellbeing page confirms these roles and objectives as part of Beyond the Classroom provision.
The school identifies Additional Learning Needs (ALN), including Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), Multi-lingual Learners (MLL), and Gifted and Talented individuals, with an Inclusion team focused on their academic, social, and emotional growth. An Inclusion Policy exists to support ALN, SEND, MLL, and Gifted and Talented students. The campus does not publicly indicate operating a dedicated SEN-only facility. For SEN-related governance, the Taaleem group also provides a broader safeguarding and inclusion framework across its schools.
Raha International School provides EAL (English as an Additional Language) support for identified students from EY to Grade 9. All teachers share responsibility to help EAL students access the IB curriculum, with a program that uses in-class support and/or withdrawal from class as needed. Admissions and identification involve language aptitude screening (CEM) and LAS Links assessments, with EAL staff involvement guiding placement. There is limited specialist EAL support in Grade 10 and the Diploma Programme. The EAL policy is documented as GC_POL_EAL_005 and was effective from September 2022, with a scheduled review in September 2026.
Wellbeing is a central part of the Khalifa City Campus culture, described as a close-knit community that supports inclusivity and student well-being beyond school. Pastoral care is embedded in every grade level, supported by Learning and Teaching Leads, Pastoral SLT, and 3 school counsellors. These roles help integrate the IB Learner Profile to foster a positive school culture and support students' social-emotional development. Wellbeing is listed under the Beyond Classroom section as a core area of student life.
Taaleem's Child Protection and Safeguarding Policy Statement asserts a duty of care to safeguard and promote welfare for all children across its schools, with a framework for safeguarding, reporting concerns, and collaboration with families and other agencies. The policy outlines roles such as designated safeguarding leads, staff training, reporting procedures, online safety, anti-bullying, and whistleblowing policies. A separate Taaleem Child Protection and Safeguarding Policy (EDUC-008) provides comprehensive governance, including signs of abuse, safeguarding procedures, and training requirements, with ongoing updates to reflect best practices. There is a Whistleblowing Policy and a Taaleem Whistleblowing Hotline to report concerns. The policy statements indicate current effective dates (e.g., EDUC-004 effective 01 April 2025; EDUC-008 effective 25 August 2025) and scheduled reviews, ensuring ongoing safeguarding governance.
