Repton School in Derbyshire, UK was founded in 1557 by Sir John Port. The Repton family expanded into international schools, including Repton Dubai, which opened in 2007. Foremarke Dubai opened in Al Barsha South in 2013 as a UK curriculum preparatory school aligned with the Repton network. Foremarke Dubai was re-branded as Repton Al Barsha on November 1, 2020, unifying the Dubai campus under the Repton name. Repton Al Barsha is part of the Cognita family of schools and maintains close links with Repton UK through shared values and a house-system tradition.
Students come from over 80 nationalities, forming a diverse international community. The school maintains a House system that supports community identity and inter-house competition. The school marks national and cultural occasions, including a Winter Festival and National Day celebrations. Parents participate through Friends of Repton (FoR), a voluntary committee that organises events to strengthen the school community.
Friends of Repton (FoR) is the Parent Teacher Association of Repton Al Barsha, consisting of a voluntary committee of parent representatives. FoR works closely with school leadership and meets regularly to plan and run events and initiatives that strengthen bonds across pupils, parents, teachers and support staff. FoR coordinates events such as Festive Movie Nights, Teddy Bears' Picnics, Desert Clean-ups, and Quiz Nights. Regular coffee mornings and support for school events like Sports Days and Cultural Days are also part of FoR activities. FoR aims to raise awareness of environmental and humanitarian issues and promotes Be Kind as its guiding motto for involvement. FoR remains a key channel for parent involvement and for sustaining a supportive school community.
