Star International School, Mirdif opened in 2008, founded to provide quality British education and a strong sense of community. In 2017 the school achieved its first 'Good' rating, reinforcing its commitment to a supportive learning environment. In 2019 the Secondary School programme was launched, expanding opportunities and pathways for older students. In 2022 Star International School, Mirdif joined International Schools Partnership (ISP), gaining access to a global network of schools. In 2023 the school earned British Schools Overseas accreditation, recognizing high standards of teaching and learning.
Star Mirdif has a multicultural community of over 80 nationalities, reflecting a diverse and inclusive school culture. The community—comprising students, staff, and parents—engages in a wellbeing- and achievement-focused environment, supported by a pastoral care team and counsellors who check in with students through Pulse. After-school enrichment includes drama, chess, and dance, with ACE holiday camps providing additional activities. A strong emphasis on wellbeing and inclusive practices underpins daily life, with a clear focus on safeguarding and support for multilingual learners. ISP membership also connects students with global opportunities and scholarships across the network.
The PTA at Star International School, Mirdif operates under the name Friends of Star Mirdif, a platform for parents to collaborate with teachers and school management. The PTA organizes meetings, workshops and events that actively involve families and provide channels for parental feedback. National Day celebrations and UAE cultural events have been planned by the PTA, including activities such as Quran recitations, a school parade, UAE dancing, camel rides, falcons and traditional cooking stations. The school emphasizes an open-door policy to the parent community, supporting active parent engagement through the PTA and broader school life. The PTA's work is aligned with ISP networks and the school's family-first approach, reinforcing a collaborative relationship between home and school.
