The Aquila School opened in September 2018 in Dubailand as the flagship Dubai campus of the International Schools Partnership (ISP). It began as a British-curriculum school serving Early Years Foundation Stage to Year 8, with Year 9 opening in 2021 and plans to extend to Year 13. The purpose-built campus has won design recognition, including Best Design Education Project of 2018. The school has been rated Outstanding by British School Overseas (BSO) and Good by KHDA. In 2024 it gained Cambridge Assessment International Education accreditation to offer Cambridge programmes in secondary, and IB World School status to deliver the IB Diploma Programme (IBDP) and the IB Career-related Programme (IBCP), with Sixth Form launching in 2024-2025.
The Aquila School serves a diverse international community with students from more than 45 nationalities. It participates in ISP-led international opportunities, including ISP Model United Nations, ISP Cultural Exchange, ISP Filmmakers, and other programs. The school runs events such as TEDxTheAquilaSchool and a broad calendar of clubs, performing arts, and sports that involve students, families, and staff. Family engagement is emphasised through family workshops and regular family conferences.
Friends of The Aquila School (FOAQS) is a parent-led organization that coordinates with the school. FOAQS organizes regular meetings and runs practical workshops such as Kitchen Garden and Dubai 30x30 Family Fitness. Parents are represented on the school's governing board, and the school conducts formal family conferences three times per year while offering family workshops. The Family Portal and other communications channels keep families informed and engaged. The school also participates in broader community partnerships and fundraising activities that involve families, such as Dubai Cares Adopt a School programme.
