The school appoints a named Mental Health Lead and a Deputy Lead to coordinate wellbeing activities and liaise with external services when needed. Staff receive regular training on recognizing and responding to mental health issues and on safeguarding; concerns are assessed and referred through the Mental Health Lead and SENDCO. The school creates an open culture where talking about mental health is normal, and provides resources and signposting for parents and carers. It emphasizes building self‑esteem, resilience, responsible decision‑making and a sense of belonging through school values and opportunities for pupil voice and participation in decision‑making.
The Greek Secondary School of London follows a policy for promoting and protecting quality and diversity, and all teaching and support staff should be familiar with this policy. The Head Teacher is responsible for ensuring that there are adequate facilities and support staff to ensure the health, safety and welfare of any pupil with SEN. All teaching and support staff must be given any information about a pupil's needs and receive such training as is necessary for them to be able to support the pupil's learning, social and personal needs. The curriculum leaders must ensure that all risk assessments for curriculum activities are adapted as necessary to ensure the safety of any pupil with SEN. No pupil should be excluded from an activity on the grounds of health and safety unless this is absolutely unavoidable. When exclusion is essential it must be authorised by the Head Teacher.

Safeguarding is a shared responsibility in the Greek Secondary School of London. All staff are expected to identify concerns, share information and take prompt action to safeguard children.
