Languages taught are English and French. All teachers come from either an English or French degree, and pupils receive teaching in both languages throughout the day. The school is homologuée by the Ministère de l'Education Nationale and is a partner of AEFE (Agency for French Education Abroad) and is registered with the English Department for Education (DfE). The school is inspected by the Inspector for French National Education as well as by Ofsted.
The school provides a bilingual education in French and English. The curriculum combines the French National Education system with the English educational system, taking the best elements from both. It aims to nurture bilingual, open-minded, confident, respectful and resilient children with inquiring minds who are well prepared to progress to top British or international schools such as the Lycée Français. The school welcomes children aged 3-11.
Our method blends different languages across subjects. Children are immersed in both languages throughout the day in all settings—class, playground, canteen, arts and sports, and outings.
Located in Battersea, L'Ecole de Battersea offers a bilingual French-English education for children aged 3 to 11. The school delivers a bilingual curriculum with parallel teaching from the French national curriculum and the English National Curriculum, immersing pupils in both languages and cultures across class, playground, canteen, arts and sports, and outings. It is homologuée by the French Ministère de l'Éducation Nationale, a partner of AEFE, and registered with the English Department for Education; Ofsted inspects the school. All teachers hold English or French degrees and teach in both languages daily. The school serves Pre-Prep (3-6) and Prep (6-11); it opened in 2005 with 85 pupils and now educates up to 265. Facilities include two mezzanine floors housing an IT suite and library, interactive whiteboards, a gym, a large indoor sports hall, and a canteen. From Year 4 onward, students undertake residential trips to France and Great Britain each year.
