Rikkyo School in England sits on a historic site dating back over 100 years on Guildford Road, Rudgwick, West Sussex RH12 3BE, England. The Main Building houses the girls' dormitory, with the Lodge and a long driveway leading to the heart of the estate. Gardens, Stables, East House, West House and South House are used for staff housing and teaching spaces. A modern complex includes the New Building for the boys' dormitory, the New Hall for dining and theatre, and a classroom block with 20 ordinary classrooms, a martial arts hall and a chapel. The administration block contains staff rooms, a health centre and a library, and a Science Laboratory Building was completed in recent years. The Music Building houses the main music room and eight practice rooms, and the campus includes a gym, an all-weather track and multiple playing fields, with twenty networked computers in the administration area.
The gymnasium covers space equivalent to three tennis courts. There is a 400-metre all-weather track. Three football pitches are available. Eight tennis courts have been upgraded recently.
Twenty ordinary classrooms are in the classroom block, which also includes a martial arts hall and a chapel. The administration block contains staff rooms, a health centre and a library. A Science Laboratory Building was completed in recent years to support science education.
There are many clubs ranging from cultural to sports. Students may join multiple clubs. Club examples include basketball, volleyball, soccer, badminton, tennis, kendo, table tennis, softball, cooking, flower arrangement, tea ceremony, drama, percussion, public relations, light music, outdoor activities, photography, dance, lacrosse and an orchestra. A Friday Sports program runs after lunch on Fridays, offering activities such as horseback riding, dancing, Shaolin kung fu, aerobics, table tennis, soccer, basketball, tennis, volleyball and golf.
Rikkyo School in England is a co-educational, full-time boarding school for ages 10–18 with Elementary, Middle and High divisions. It sits on a historic campus in West Sussex and is affiliated with Japan; recognised by the Japanese Ministry of Education as an overseas private educational facility equivalent to domestic schools. The blended curriculum comprises: (1) Academic/core curriculum aligned to the Japanese MEXT requirements; (2) a Support curriculum including PSHEE, SMSC, RSE, British Values, Cultural Capital and extensive activities; (3) Outside-the-classroom learning through engagement with social, cultural, spiritual, academic and sporting organisations. Core subjects include Japanese, geography, history, mathematics, sciences, health and physical education, Visual Art, Music, English, ICT and home economics. English reading is developed through a three-year program with assessments across Knowledge & Skills, Critical Thinking & Communication, and Learning Attitude & Independence. Upper Secondary offers university guidance, including visits to UCL and a UK entrance program developed with UCL and the University of Surrey. Facilities include dormitories, dining hall, theatre, library, science laboratories, music facilities, gym, 400m track and playing fields.
