Lower School uses an inquiry-based approach to learning in a language-immersion setting. Students learn to communicate in both French and English. The Middle School follows the International Baccalaureate (IB) Middle Years Programme to deliver a core curriculum in five languages: French, German, Mandarin Chinese, Spanish, or an English-focused track. STEAM learning emphasizes hands-on exploration, including projects where fifth graders create 3D-printed machines and third graders build Rube Goldberg machines.
Arts, Culture, and Enrichment (ACE) Weeks provide arts and cultural experiences across the school. In February ACE Week, students explored the world through hands-on activities and cultural experiences. STEAM Across the Lower School integrates creative thinking with science through hands-on projects such as 3D-printed machines and circuit-based activities.

Athletics are offered to promote a healthy lifestyle and school pride. The school participates in the Metro Christian League (MCL) during the year. Extended Learning includes Early Arrival, Aftercare, Afterschool Explorers, Athletics, Arts and Cultural Enrichment (ACE) Weeks, and Summer Programs. Healthy afternoon snacks are included in tuition and after-school activities.
French International School of Oregon is an independent school in Portland serving ages 2 to 14. It blends the International Baccalaureate framework (PYP and MYP) with a French curriculum in a language-immersion setting and is the only IB-authorized provider in Portland for preschool through eighth grade. The school is fully accredited by the French Ministry of Education and affiliated with AEFE and Mission Laïque Française. All teachers are native speakers, and English is integrated from preschool and gradually expanded from 2nd through 5th grade in line with Oregon's English Language Arts Standards. In Middle School, students can pursue immersion tracks in French, German, Mandarin Chinese, Spanish, or an English-focused track. The campus comprises 15 wooded acres and houses new STEAM spaces for hands-on learning; a gym supports middle school activities, and the Lower School library is on site. Extended Learning offers athletics, ACE Weeks, Afterschool Explorers, and Summer Programs.
