Billing schedule and payment terms

- Payment plans available: semi-annual, quarterly, 10-month, and 12-month; payments for the following school year begin in July. An interest rate of 4% per annum is charged on the outstanding balance for all payment plans. VCPay (Veracross) manages payment plans and requires registration.

- Credit card convenience/processing fees: a 3% credit card processing fee applies for tuition payment in full made directly to the school. If paying by credit card through VCPay, a 2.99% + USD 0.30 fee applies for Visa/Mastercard/Discover and 3.1% + USD 0.30 for American Express; ACH payments through VCPay do not incur convenience fees.
- Checks should be made payable to "French International School of Oregon" and mailed to the Business/Admissions office at the school address.

Boarding fees

- Boarding is not applicable; the school serves Maternelle (TPS–K), Lower School (1st–5th), and Middle School (6th–8th) and does not offer boarding.

Refund information and tuition insurance / tuition refund plan options

- Optional tuition refund insurance is available via a tuition-refund/insurance program (Protect My Tuition). Coverage is available for a range of covered reasons — including illness, job transfer, academic withdrawal, voluntary withdrawal, and certain unemployment situations — and is offered as an optional protection that families may elect. The Protect My Tuition option is priced at 2.3% of net tuition for the 2026–27 offering (rate unchanged from the prior year).
- An alternate/related Tuition Refund Plan (TRP) premium schedule is published showing premium amounts tied to grade-level tuition (example TRP premiums for the 2025–26 schedule are listed per grade band). Families may opt into the TRP on the enrollment contract within specified opt-in periods. The TRP provides an allowance of tuition and fees in the event of a covered withdrawal or other covered separation as described in the TRP brochure.

Fee payment options

- Accepted payment methods: check, credit card (Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Discover), ACH via VCPay, and managed tuition payment plans through VCPay/Veracross. Credit card payments in full to the school carry a 3% processing fee; credit card payments through VCPay incur the convenience fees noted above. Registration in VCPay is required to enroll in payment plans.

Other administrative fees and financial-aid application fee

- School-based financial aid: families complete a single Clarity financial-aid application per child; the Clarity financial-aid application requires a non-refundable USD 60 application fee.

Notes

- The Capital Fee is charged per family (not per student) and is distributed across the first-year payment plan when applicable. Extended-learning offerings and after-school activities may carry separate, additional charges depending on enrollment and program selection.

French International School of Oregon is an independent school in Portland serving ages 2 to 14. It blends the International Baccalaureate framework (PYP and MYP) with a French curriculum in a language-immersion setting and is the only IB-authorized provider in Portland for preschool through eighth grade. The school is fully accredited by the French Ministry of Education and affiliated with AEFE and Mission Laïque Française. All teachers are native speakers, and English is integrated from preschool and gradually expanded from 2nd through 5th grade in line with Oregon's English Language Arts Standards. In Middle School, students can pursue immersion tracks in French, German, Mandarin Chinese, Spanish, or an English-focused track. The campus comprises 15 wooded acres and houses new STEAM spaces for hands-on learning; a gym supports middle school activities, and the Lower School library is on site. Extended Learning offers athletics, ACE Weeks, Afterschool Explorers, and Summer Programs.
