TK–5 (Transitional Kindergarten through 5th grade).
Elementary school
Office hours are 7:30 AM–3:30 PM. The gates open at 7:55 AM. Transitional Kindergarten runs 8:10 AM–1:30 PM with a morning start; Kindergarten runs 8:10 AM–1:30 PM. 1st–3rd grades run 8:10 AM–2:23 PM; 4th–5th grades run 8:10 AM–2:38 PM. Recess is 10:00–10:20 AM and lunch times vary by grade. Wednesdays/minimum days have early-release schedules.
Application fees
- There is no application fee for neighborhood (resident) student registration. Enrollment for new students is completed online through the district registration process and is assigned by school of residence.
Tuition fees by year group (per term / per year)
- Transitional Kindergarten (TK), Kindergarten and Grades 1–5: No tuition is charged to resident students; instruction is provided as a public elementary program and there are no per-term or per-year tuition charges for neighborhood-enrolled students.
- Intradistrict or interdistrict transfer applicants: Enrollment is managed through the district's transfer process; attendance is by approval of space and district procedures rather than by tuition payments. Contact the district enrollment office for transfer procedures.
Billing schedule and payment terms
- School meal accounts: Meal purchases and any a la carte/second-meal charges are posted per purchase; online deposits to meal accounts are processed per transaction and a payment-processing fee applies to card deposits. Second-meal charges are billed per meal at the stated a la carte rates. Payments to meal accounts may be made online via the district's meal payment portal.
- Before- and after-school care (Clubhouse): Clubhouse program fees are billed on a monthly basis. Fixed tuition plans (examples from the 2025–26 pricing schedule) show monthly rates by program option (before school, after care, extended care and kinder care); drop-in care is charged hourly. There is a one-time registration fee at sign-up. Specific billing cadence is monthly.
Boarding fees
- Not applicable. Lexington Elementary is a neighborhood public elementary school with day programs only and does not provide boarding facilities.
Other costs and typical additional fees
- School meals and a la carte extras:
- All students were eligible for free meals on the district program in 2025–26; students requesting a second full meal are charged for that second meal (example second-meal prices shown for 2025–26: breakfast and lunch second-meal rates). A processing fee is added to online deposits. Parents may be charged per-item or per-second-meal amounts when students purchase extras.
- Before-/after-school Clubhouse charges and registration fees (examples from the 2025–26 pricing sheet):
- Registration fee: $75 plus $25 per additional child at registration.
- Before School Program (7:00 AM–8:00 AM): example monthly fixed plans — All 5 days $299; Any 3 days $182.
- After Care (until 5:00 PM) for grades 1–5: example monthly fixed plans — All 5 days $762; Any 3 days $510.
- Kinder Care (until 5:00 PM) and Extended Care (5:00 PM–6:00 PM) have separate monthly rates (examples available on the program pricing sheet).
- Drop-in care: $24 per hour.
- Sibling discount: 10% (not applicable to the registration fee); JPA member employee discount: 10%.
- Fees shown on the pricing sheet are billed monthly and are subject to change with the school schedule.
- School-run optional items and family-sourced costs:
- Optional spirit wear/“Lex Gear” and yearbook purchases are available through the Home & School Club and are optional costs for families. There is no mandatory uniform fee. The Home & School Club coordinates fundraising, spirit-gear sales and optional purchases such as yearbooks.
Refund information
- Meal-account refunds: Refunds for cafeteria account balances (for example when closing an account for a departing student) are available by request through the district Child Nutrition contact; a refund request must be submitted to the Child Nutrition office as directed by the district. Card-processing fees charged by the payment vendor apply to deposits and are separate from meal-account balances.
- Clubhouse / LGS Recreation refunds and cancellations: Clubhouse registration and program cancellations, refunds or credits are governed by LGS Recreation registration policy and the program's terms (a registration fee is charged at enrollment). Families should follow the LGS Recreation program terms for requests related to registration cancellations or program refunds. Example registration fees and program billing terms are published on the LGS Recreation pricing sheet.
Fee payment options and how payments are made
- School meals: Online deposits to meal accounts are accepted through the district's meal payment portal (Titan / LINQ Connect). Payments by debit card or VISA/MasterCard credit card are accepted online; a per-transaction processing fee is added to online deposits. The meal payment portal also allows account balance checks, automatic recurring payments, and low-balance alerts. Cash or check handling is managed through school procedures when allowed, but the district uses the online portal for card payments.
- Clubhouse and after-school programs: Clubhouse fees are billed by LGS Recreation and payments for those programs are made to LGS Recreation according to their registration and billing process. The LGS Recreation pricing sheet lists monthly fees, registration fee amounts, and contact details for registration and account questions.
- District enrollment and administrative items: Registration and enrollment forms are completed through the LGUSD online registration and PowerSchool Parent Portal; typical administrative transactions related to enrollment use the district's online systems. There is no separate application fee for neighborhood student registration.

Lexington Elementary is an International Baccalaureate World School serving students from Transitional Kindergarten through fifth grade, ages 3 to 11. The campus offers the IB Primary Years Program in conjunction with the California Common Core standards, and Lexington was authorized to deliver the PYP in 2007, the first public IB school in Northern California. The school hosts a Transitional Kindergarten IB Early Years program as Lexington's TK hub. The curriculum emphasizes inquiry and transdisciplinary units organized under themes such as Who We Are and How the World Works. Instruction is delivered in English with a TK-5 Spanish FLES program to build multilingual capabilities. In 2014 the campus was rebuilt, providing large modern classrooms, a library, Life Lab and Garden, outdoor classrooms, and a multipurpose room for theater. Signature offerings include an annual theater production, a robust arts program, and a Green Team with garden-based learning. A supportive community guides learners.
