Lexington Elementary is an International Baccalaureate Primary Years Program school and offers an IB Transitional Kindergarten. The school uses the Programme of Inquiry with units such as Who We Are, How We Express Ourselves, How the World Works, and Taking Action, supporting inquiry-based learning. It is the only LGUSD school offering the IB Primary Years Program and an IB Early Years TK program. The school also supports Pathways to Multilingualism with a TK-5 Spanish FLES program and language goals that culminate in a Multiliteracy Award in fifth grade.
Art and Music at Lexington is funded by One Community Los Gatos and aims to build collaboration, critical thinking, and creativity through art experiences aligned to standards. The program includes visual art and music components, with singing, music appreciation, and rhythmic movement as part of the curriculum. Art lessons connect to IB and include at-home projects to extend learning. Drama opportunities are provided through the school's Play program, hosted by Lex HSC.
Pathways to Multilingualism offers three paths: the TK-5 Personal Progress Award for Additional Language(s), the TK-5 Personal Progress Award for Home Language, and the 5th grade Pathway to Multiliteracy Award, with monthly goals and certificates along the way. Students may enter a pathway at any grade and pursue language goals with family support, culminating in recognition during promotion. The TK-5 Spanish Program provides extensive exposure to Spanish and its cultures as part of Lexington's IB PYP, following a research-based, communicative approach to language learning.
Clubhouse provides after-school enrichment in a secure, nurturing environment, offering daily snacks, cooking projects, arts and crafts, outdoor games and sports, science experiments, and more. Home and School Club activities and school events also contribute to social opportunities and community connections.
LexEcology centers on civic and environmental action, featuring the Life Lab garden program and a student Green Team that educates on waste sorting and reducing trash. Accomplishments include weekly Life Lab lessons linked to IB units, class garden planters, and hands-on recycling initiatives such as crayon and marker recycling. The program also coordinates beautification days, partners with local organizations for food distribution, and runs community drives such as textile and shoe recycling.
The Lexington Home and School Club (HSC) is comprised of parents and staff who raise funds and sponsor events that enrich Lexington's programs, most notably the IB program, and volunteers in the garden and classrooms. The HSC5 also supports the Lexington IB Learner Profile for Parents and collaborates with the school to involve families in governance and school activities. HSC meetings are generally held monthly and open to all families.

The Green Team and garden activities include regular outdoor and hands-on experiences, along with school-wide cleanups and environmentally conscious practices. Clubhouse programming highlights outdoor play, sports, and mindfulness-informed activities, contributing to students' physical health and overall well-being.

The campus offers the IB Primary Years Program in conjunction with the California Common Core standards, and Lexington was authorized to deliver the PYP in 2007, the first public IB school in Northern California. The school hosts a Transitional Kindergarten IB Early Years program as Lexington's TK hub. The curriculum emphasizes inquiry and transdisciplinary units organized under themes such as Who We Are and How the World Works. Instruction is delivered in English with a TK-5 Spanish FLES program to build multilingual capabilities.
